The Man

I sit and watch as cars go by and when I leave and when I leave

I leave, it is dark

I sit and watch as cars go by and when I leave, I walk alone

And no one hears me, it is dark

I walk alone, nobody sees me

I walk alone, nobody hears me

I walk alone.

If I were a dog would they give me water?

If I were a dog would they give me shelter?

If I were a dog would they give me food?  But no.

No.

They pray for my heart. They do not see me.

They pray for my soul.  They look right through me.

They pray for my life. Where is my freedom?

They pray for my death. They pray for my death. They pray for my death.

They pray that I’ll just go away.

I sit and watch as cars go by and when I leave and when I leave

I leave, It is dark

I sit and watch as cars go by and when I leave,  I walk alone

And no one sees me.

I’m not a dog.

I walk alone.
