On 28th

Looking through the door, I can see The Man

And he looks like a dog, and he walks like a dog

And he stalks like a dog, but he’s free

Looking through the door, I can see The Man

Sitting by the pole, painting the murals of his life

In stick figures - he is Van Gogh

Years ago when there was a life to be lead,

He was in his red

Phase, but now it’s all gone from blue to gray

They’ve gone away

Looking through the door, I can see The Man

And he looks like a dog, and he walks like a dog

And he stalks like a dog, but he’s free

Sitting by the pole counting the cars or maybe stars

They’re all the same, what is his name?

Sitting by the pole, one foot away from the cars.

He is untouched by their life by their scars

Sitting writing his plans that only he understands.

And they don’t see him, and he trusts them to leave him free.

On 28th the world goes by

On 28th everyday

On 28th he makes his plans

On 28th he’ll make his stand

On 28th all the people pass by without a thought of why on 28th, he will....

Looking through the door,

I can see The Man, and he

Looks like a dog, and he walks like a dog

And he stalks like a dog, but he’s free

To be

Is he?
