Biography

The four members of Trinity Dogs had been playing bars, art festivals and showcase gigs in Fort Worth, Dallas and Austin as Kid on a Pony.  A studio album and the evolution of their music from its folk-rock roots led to a new name and more serious direction as the group focuses on songs written and arranged by all four members.  Trinity Dogs’ style is an eclectic blend of folk, rock, county and blues, often infused with harmonies and usually interpreted with acoustic guitar, mandolin, drums and bass.  But that’s sometimes broken up by an occasional electric guitar or accented with a mournful harmonica.  Listeners might detect influences ranging from REM and The Grateful Dead to Natalie Merchant, Richard Thompson and Soul Asylum.  Fans have described the group as a power mandolin quartet, an effort to convey its rocking acoustic style.  Or as an art band, an allusion to its offbeat arrangements of dark and imaginative songs.  Whatever you call it, it’s a new recipe for a new day.

Welcome to a new day.
